The company A.C. Chievo Verona, following the first instance ruling made known today by the Federal Court in the process that involves it for alleged fictitious capital gains, communicates its position through the legal defender, the lawyer Marco De Luca:
"We are amazed and disappointed by the outcome of today's ruling. We firmly believe, today more than ever, that the company has always acted with fairness and transparency, and that the investigations of the power of attorney have not been done correctly.
We therefore believe that Chievo Verona does not deserve this reduced penalization, which is also the result of the awareness, on the part of the Court, of the weakness of the accusatory thesis. We will then appeal, confident that sport justice will eventually recognize our reasons.
In any case, beyond all considerations of merit, the fact remains that we defer the reference to Chievo Verona void for the reasons already expressed yesterday at the hearing and in particular because the only subject legitimized to sign the relevant deed would have been the prosecutor Giuseppe Pecoraro, who has not done so and has not deduced any impediment as required by the Code of Sporting Justice ".
