The Premier League evaluates commissions for players' agents

Hard times could emerge for Jorge Mendes and members in the Premier League. The English League, in fact, is thinking of changing the rules on the commissions to be paid to the agents and forcing the players, not the clubs, to take charge of them. The leaders of the Premier, report the British "Sky Sports", will meet today to address the topic: the goal is to end the growing spiral of commissions that, last year, have almost reached 250 million euros between England and Wales.

The commissions would also be linked to the duration of the contract, so that agents no longer push to get transfers of their clients well before the deadline. But there could be other changes in this area: among the proposals on the table is to reintroduce an examination to be addressed to obtain the status of agent and the obligation to operate through an account in one of the UK banks.
