That would be a novelty in the Bundesliga!
Because Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (64) is coming to Berlin on September 28 and 29, a transfer of Bayern's game to Hertha BSC is under consideration (28.9.). The Berlin police have security concerns. First, the Tagesspiegel had reported about it.
Will Bayern play be relocated because of Erdogan?
Michael Kranz (40), chairman of the staff council of the Berlin police to BILD: "In yesterday's meeting of the Staff Council was decided to call on the Interior Senator Andreas Geisel (SPD) to consider a declaration of police emergency."
This claim has been sent to the senator by mail and e-mail. If the state of emergency is declared, events such as the Hertha game (300 Berlin police officers, in addition to federal police forces) could be postponed on 28 September, as well as smaller operations and events in the capital!
Reason: The work of the short-suffering police could be made easier for the weekend of the Erdogan state visit. Kranz: "The Interior Senator should check our claim and then sit down with the police leadership."
In addition to the Erdogan visit, Berlin is also preparing for another major event. From the 1st to the 3rd of October the big unity celebration takes place. Also for this a large contingent of the Berlin police is needed.
