Real, especially in the first half, when Lopetegui for the first time in this International Champions Cup puts in a little 'all his precious gems. Possession of ball, phrasing and sudden verticality were the keys to the success of the merengues (2-1), led by a decisive Bale in front, by a Ceballos sometimes sublime and by the movements of Isco, whose swing often changed the form from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3. For Roma, however, a test opaque, especially in the first 45 ', when Di Francesco's team has often run empty, risking several times to suffer even 3-0.
Well in the first half Pastore and Florenzi, in the second half Kluivert. The Giallorossi then re-opened it in the final, when Real was on the pitch with all the "cantera". But, in general, ten days from the official start of the season, the impression is that there are still many mechanisms
After a delay of half an hour due to the weather alert (electrical storm and risk of lightning strike) you can leave. Not even two minutes, however, that Real is already ahead, with a splendid assist of Bale to overcome Marcano in speed and to put Asensio alone in front of Olsen, with the Spaniard who is not wrong. Rome then tries to react with a couple of Pastore plays on the short and some happy Florenzi descent to the right. Too little, though, even if Dzeko (8 ') commits Navas from outside. Real, however, goes at a different speed, but above all has a ball possession with so much quality that the high pressure of the Giallorossi often goes to empty. Having jumped the first pressure line, the Spaniards are often in numerical parity in the attack on the door.
And so comes the 2-0 to 15 ', with Carvajal fishing vertically Bale, the Welsh tip Marcano, leads him on a walk and burns left Olsen (who beats the wrong pole). Then it is still only Real, with Asensio stopped alone at the door by a non-existent offside (30 '), Olsen who gives a shot from outside Benzema (36') and Fazio who saves the line on the line 3-0 of Asensio a sure blow (Olsen still hurt on the Carvajal cross). The Giallorossi reaction is all in one turn beside Pastore on Kolarov's free kick, while on the other side it is Ceballos who shudders Olsen from the outside.
The recovery is conditioned by the many pinwheels of changes, with Roma immediately trying to increase its offensive potential with Schick alongside Dzeko (up to 26 ') and Real Madrid who inevitably loses a bit of quality in possession of the ball, beyond to make a mistake with a couple of poisonous balloons with Carvajal on which Rome can not be found ready. To touch yet again the 3-0, however, is always the Real 16 ', when a touch of pool from the Brazilian Vinicius stop out of a whisker, alongside the seven to the left of Mirante.
Ceballos continues to draw football in the middle of the field, Kluivert to create vertical spaces with his speed. In the 34th minute, however, Roma could reopen the game, but Schick wastes a good job on the leading side in the Coric and Pellegrini strait. The goal, however, comes four minutes later, when Leon punctuates with a head of Schick to follow, the ball arrives to Strootman who bags right under the legs of Navas.
Then a last Mayoral blaze and the final whistle. Roma return home with a victory (Barcelona) and two losses (Tottenham and Real Madrid), but above all with the awareness of having to work a lot more.
